email 12.31.07

Curley's-Hello there. It was awesome to talk to all of you on Christmas. It was weird I kept looking at the door waiting for you to come in and say SUPRISE, but it never happened. It was tough to say good-bye again, but hey I am in an awesome place. I am really happy that I got to stay here in Mount Shasta. It has actually been really nice weather, compared to Utah bitter cold anyway. Well it sounds like a fun class for you there Ryan, just don't shoot any of the relatives, the family gets mad sometimes and the bodies are not as easy to get rid of. :) Zack that kid needs to figure things out. With the way he is going he will be just like Cody when I get home, what a thought. Oh well he will figure it out maybe eventually. I am sorry to hear that Dallin burnt his hand, I hope that he is doing well and there was no serious damage to anything. Saedy sounds like she is getting all grown up, goodness she will be running when I get home. Good job on the schooling there Ryan, I can only imagine how much fun it is going to be to go back to school for myself after 3 years of not having to do it. Well good on you for doing it. Well take care of yourselves and hope to hear from you soon. Take care. Love you all.-Elder Brickey

The Mommy-I am really happy that I am staying in Mount Shasta, it is an amazing area. That lady prayed for both Elder Nash and I's soul and that we would find the right path that the Lord wanted us on. Little does she realize that we are on the right path, oh well. More that likely, if things go as they have been, Elder Nash will get transfered on our next tansfer ,which is February 4th, and I will stay. Then I will probably be here for another two transfers, so 4 total, so I can get whoever replaces Elder Nash familiar with the area and with our Investigators. Thank you for paying my tithing I really appreciate it. Scott Olsen's parents are actually in a different mission, our missions do touch though. I have a half pday today and tomorrow it is an all day pday so that is nice. Yeah President doesn't want us in the hollabaloo of the holiday stuff. Tyrell's farewell, thats awesome. Yeah there is a ton of missionaries from our stake it is crazy. Well thats about all I think. Love you.-Elder Brickey

Email 12.22.07

The Mommy-It was really nice to talk to all of you yesterday. Thank you for letting Brie come over and talk too. I think that she likes hot cocoa, but I am not sure it was always me drinking it. We actually got a phone call this morning from the Zone Leaders and they asked me if I would like to know where I was getting transfered to, I told him yeah and he told me that Elder Nash and I were staying, so another 6 weeks at least here in Mount Shasta! If we were to get a call saying we are getting transfered, we pack that day, than the next day we leave to wherever we are going. That is sweet of Grandma to do that, you could put it in my Washington Mutual account that would be fine, after paying tithing on it. Our Christmas dinner was awesome. The family is so nice and they had some amazing food. It was weird to see alcohol served, but hey they and their friends are not memebers. Anyways...Jim and Wanda are down in Santa Rosa till today, the 26th. We actually took their dog back to their house and made sure that everything was okay on Christmas Eve. Other than that nothing much has changed much. As for Brie and I, yes we did "Break Up" because I wanted her to not feel like she was stuck with me if someone asked her out and she wanted to go on a date. I still refer to her as my girlfriend though. As for an umbrella and gloves, i have an umbrella but gloves would be nice. I do have a picture of my bike now I will send another CD soon with MORE pictures for you all. Well thanks again for all your love and support take care. Love you tons.-Elder Brickey

Letters

Family & Friends
I thought that I would just write a little Christmas letter to all of you out there in the "real world". Things are going great out here in California. I am in a town called Mount Shasta; it is the Northern most part of the mission, and the only part of the mission that gets snow! It feels a lot like home because the elevation here is about 3600 feet, so pretty close to the 4500 of home. I am also at the base of a beautiful mountain! It is great being here in the service of our Father in Heaven and it is great to see the many wonderful things that he blesses all us Missionaries with, and the blessings that he gives to everyone of his children. It has been fun knocking on all sorts of doors and listening to all the wonderful things that people say when they answer the door. I cannot believe that I have only been gone for about 2 months, it feels like I have been gone for a while, but at the same time it seems like just yesterday that I was home, it is very weird. Anyway... I hope that things are going well for you all, and I know that if you do the things that the Lord asks of you that you will be blessed so very much. Also with it being Christmas time remember the true meaning behind Christmas. It is the day that out (our) Savior Jesus Christ came into the world to live and to die for us all, what a great and amazing thing. Well that is about it for me. Take care of yourselves and have a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
-Elder Brickey

Family-
-15 days till Christmas & you will be able to hear my annoying voice again. Just kidding. Anyway on Christmas day you can call at like noon, or just before 4pm. We have a dinner with a family at around 5. I was thinking that you could just call at noon, that would work out. I am sorry it has taken forever to get this written, today is the 14th & I am down in Anderson, it is about 80 miles from Mount Shasta. We left Mount Shasta at 8am to get down here on time, we also had to pick up two other Elders. It was nice to get a package from you & Grandma & Grandpa, it was awesome. We got to hang out for a while with the other missionaries from our Zone & the Anderson Zone. We played games, watched a movie & ate some pizza. It was nice to have that time. Anyway...things have been going well out here Elder Nash & I have had a lot of luck in finding new investigators, & helping the investigators that we do have. It is just awesome to see the Lord work through us in ways that are hard to explain. I do know that we are doing that which the Lord desires of us. I hope that things are going well for all of you. Things have been great out here other than I had to refill my pill perscription, which was lets say fun. The only store here is Rite Aid & they took a while & I have the recipt enclosed for you. Well that is about it for this letter. I will write again soon.
-Elder Brickey

He also sent over 300 pictures. To the right is a slideshow of the pictures. You can click on the picture and it will send you to another spot too see them bigger. You just have to click on the play button once you get there. Any questions let us know!

email 12-18-07

Familia de Curley-Yeah another week gone by and it is snowing, and is suppose to continue till Thurday, maybe even till next week so that is awesome. It sounds like you have your hands full with the two chillins. It is in one week that we will get to chit chat, and I actually want you to call me at 11am (your time). As for who is there. Mom, Dad, Ritchie's, Curley's, Scott and Kayce if Scott wants her there, Nicole and Ben, Grandma & Grandpa Walker, Grandpa Brickey, Grandma Sorensen, and if you guys will be nice I would like to talk to Brie and Ryan McGraw if he is not in Alabama. It is a bit cold and the two pair of thermal bottoms are nice, but more would not hurt any, and some thermal socks. Things are going great and we actually might have three baptismal dates by the time we talk so, yippee! The members are actually very involved in any and every way that they can be, it is awesome. I have a package coming to the house and I would like it if you would distribute the "goods" if you would. Thanks for all you do and take care of those kids. Love you tons.-Elder Brickey

The Mommy-I did get your packages and I am using the thermal garmets for all they are worth. I thought I was going to California where it is supposedly sunny all the time. Anyways. For the Christmas call you can call at 11 am(your time) that will work out fine. As for who is there. You, Dad, Ritchie's, Curley's, Scott and Kayce if Scott wants, Nicole and Ben, Grandma & Grandpa Walker, Grandpa Brickey, Grandma Sorensen, and if you would Brie and maybe Ryan McGraw if he is home by then. It is nice to email Kyle and Brad, they are both doing really well and are both really busy in the work. As for Josh and Jean Marie I did get their announcment, and did you know that Brie made it??? Talented girl. Things will Elder Nash are great we get along pretty well. There are a few times that I have wanted to slap him, but I have pulled through those moments of weakness. My bike just sits in the storage closet, it doesn't roll well in snow and salt is not good for it either so it stays dry and safe. It is coldish, nothing like the Utah cold, and it started snowing Saturday and is suppose to keep going till at least Thursday so that is exciting. As for the people looking to get baptised, there is the Linsley's (Lins-lees) which are an older couple in their 60s and there is also Alison Bobet (bow-bear) who is in her 60s as well. They are all rock firm in the church and just awesome. Well I will talk to you at 11 am (your time) on Christmas than. Love you.-Elder Brickey

e-mail from 12-10-07

Sorry I turned off the computer and didn't get it back on until today.

the Mommy,
Yeah it was crazy snowy here for a day and a half, now it is just bitter cold. I am very happy that I have this jacket it is saving my bacon. Thermals, full garmet bottoms something would be nice to help keep my legs warm, and maybe some thicker black socks to keep my feet warmer. My shoes are great I have super up keep on them so that helps a lot. I am glad to hear Grandma and Grandpa had a safe trip. The spanish elders are all down in the Southern part of the mission. Up here we are just a small town with mainly people that speak english. I love the email from the kids it is awesome! I really miss them. They will all be so big and different when I get home it is weird to think about. We have only had some serious rain storms here, the cloud cover that we get holds in to much heat to get snow. I have been able to email Kyle and Brad, it is a lot quicker than writing letters which is nice. Well thank you for all you do, take care. Love you.
-Elder Brickey
p.s. anyone can be a mother, it takes someone special to be a mommy. Merry Christmas

12-10-2007

Hello Curley's-Things are going great here we have three investigators praying for a baptismal date! Yes I can mountain bike here, if my companion had his bike up here. Another Elder down in Redding needed it for a while now we just have to bring it back up here to do some riding. Well Happy Birthday Ryan, sorry you have an exam, but a gun is always good. The kids sound like they are growing up way to fast, but that is good I guess. It sounds like you are going to have your hands full between the two. I feel pretty bad for Dad, and Ryan McGraw. The Fugals are hard to get along with, and I heard some interesting stories about them in Colorado. If I get a Fugal companion I will have to work through it, God gave him to me for a reason, I might not be happy but I will deal with it. I am sending a package home with some stuff and in it will be a CD with some pictures on it. I want a nativity now! No just kidding it would just be one more thing to have to pack around with me. It sounds like you are keeping yourselves busy between kids, school, work, and whatever else you do. Thank you for including me in the presents I really appreciate that. The Ritchie kids, that sounded like a lot of fun. I do wish sometimes that I could be home for Christmas, but I will do a lot more good where I am at so I will stay. We drive 120 miles round trip, lots of fun. We also have a few meetings this month, we put on like 300 miles a day about for them. I love my area, it is gorgeous and the people here are amazing. On pday I write, do laundry, sleep, go site seeing. It is amazing. Well I am glad to hear that all is well. Take care. Love you all.-Elder Brickey

12-3-07

Mom-Mount Shasta has 3700 people living in it, the elevation is 3600 feet, oh and by the way we have snow. We have a car because our area is actually from a city called Dunsmuir (Duns-meer) up to a city called Lake Shastina (Chastina with a S). We drive on average about 40 miles a day. Then every Tuesday we drive 120 miles just to get to our District Meeting and back, but it is okay because it is gorgeous here. I am writing in my journal, I missed a few days so I have to go back a write in them, which is easy with us planning every day in our planners I remember what we did. So far I have not had any problems with being a "greeny" except for being shy and nervous, but I am working through that. The shirt I will send to you, you can do whatever with it. It was $16 about. If we were to go to the temple we would go to the Medford Temple and we would get a ride from someone in the ward. They are very eager to help us in every and any way, and we only get to go twice a year whenever we want I think. Elder Carter and Elder Mitchell are somewhere down South I am not sure where though. My coat is warm, but my slacks, not so warm, same with my socks. I might buy some tomorrow when we are in Redding to help out a little with the cold. I am actually eating all my fruits and veggies including broccolli, asperagus, and other weird things, but I told myself that I would try everything at least once. Of course I am helping clean up, some get mad when I do but I still do to appease the mommy. We live in our own apartment and we have a washer and dryer which is awesome, so no laundramat. I did not know about the train thing, but yes it is gorgeous here. We have about 8 inches of snow and it is still snowing on the mountain, so we are getting hail and sleet and rain now. I did hear that Grandma and Grandpa went to PA, I hope their trip went well for them. Well thats all for now. Love you tons, take care.-Elder Brickey

Curley's-It was good to hear from you all. I really enjoyed the messages from Dallin and Saedy. I have a hard time looking at their picture and thinking about how old they will be when I get back and how big. It is okay though cause it is simply amazing here. We got about 8 inches of snow yesterday night and day, now it is sleeting and such, which sucks to tract in. I am glad to hear that things are going well. When does Dad get back from Colorado? I need his email address. Anyway.....It is hard to think that I will not be home fro Christmas, but hey I am where the Lord needs me so it is all good. It is pretty cold up here, my jacket keeps me warm, but my slacks and socks are not so warm. Well I hope all is going well and I appreciate the letters and emails. Take care. Love you all.-Elder Brickey

emails 11-26-07

We just received a letter today-which is below all this, and now here are the emails.

Hey Familia Curley-I am in the Library, where else would I be? No I am actually in Mount Shasta, and it is BEAUTIFUL! The mountain is just outside our appartment, oh yeah my companion is Elder Nash. The members and people out here are really nice for the most part. There are those select few that are jerks, but hey their loss. For Thanksgiving we went and played in the Turkey Bowl and our team won, which was fun. It is actually in the mid 40s all day, in the mornings around 9 ish it is usually around 35, so a bit cold. All we are waiting for is a weather front to move in for the snow! I keep mom and dad, and you all, in my prayers. The one thing that I had the hardest time getting over was thinking that mom and dad would get a divorce while I was out here. I now know that the Lord will help me with me weakness in this and that mom and dad will hopefully be okay, so your story about them was appreciated. I really wish that I could see the kids. I look at the picture of Dallin and Saedy, and both of you everyday. I miss you all but I know that the Lord is doing great and marvelous things for me and for the family while I am in his service. Well I hope you all are okay. Take care and give the kids a squeeze. Love ya tons-Elder Brickey

The Mommy-I did get your letter, sorry it took me till Thanksgiving though to write you all back. The pictures that you recieved are actually ones that Sister Perry took so I am not sure but I do believe that it is Elder Carter, if he is tall dark hair and glasses anyways, and we are at the Sacramento Airport. Well my bike is amazing, I will try to get a picture to send to you. I have been having a hard time with my memory card and getting a kyosk to read it or a computer to sync it too. I will find a way though. Well we mainly eat at a members house, pretty well every night actually, so I do not have to cook much. I would like a few recipes though if you wouldn't mind, like smores and other good ones. I actually did not eat that much this Thanksgiving, I will admit that I was a little homesick, but I will survive hopefully. My companion is Elder Nash, and I am in a Library! No I am actually somewhere really cool, I am in Mount Shasta! My letter will tell the story, it's kinda funny. I am glad to hear that Grandma and Grandpa finally had their "Farewell" it was really hard for me to leave them on Tuesday, especially with Grandpa tearing up. I bet that it does feel weird with me gone, I sometimes find myself wanting to talk with one of you or just see one of you, but I know that I am where I should be and that it is a good thing for me to be out here. I hope all is going well for you, take care. Love ya-Elder Brickey

Letter: November 19, 2007

For your information: Only immediate family(mom, dad, siblings and grandparents) can email Kade, all others must use snail mail. Sorry!

Family-(mom)
I am in California! It is weird to think that I have been gone almost a month. I have decided that I need some family photos for myself. I have the one of Shan & Ry & the kids but I need the whole family! Anyways....
My flight Tuesday was short, but beautiful. Tell Scott that Taho is gorgeous from the sky. We got in at 9am, California time. President Perry, Sister Perry, & the Zone leaders were there to greet us. we drove about a half hour to the Stake Center in Roseville. Met with President Perry one on one, talked to the Medical people & watched a movie while filling out papers, the movie was about driving so no worries. We than headed to the mission office where we got our licenses photo copied & met some other missionaries from the mission. We than headed over to the Mission home, wow gorgeous, for lunch. We ate, took a nap, & than some pictures before heading to Yuba City where we would meet our trainers. About an hour & a half later later we were in Yuba City. We all met together had a brief little message form President Perry than they handed out the assignments. They handed out a piece of paper to the trainers & on the piece of paper had somethings about the trainee. There usually is not someone from the Mount Shasta zone because its another 3 1/2 hours away from Yuba, but this time there was, & of the 14 elders I got to go to Mount Shasta! My trainer is Elder Nash, he is from Sandy, Utah. After we took some pictures we went out & got my stuff, including my bike!, & loaded up. We rode to Redding with two other Elders who were in the Redding zone. We drove for about 2 1/2 hours than reached the Stake Center in Redding. We hauled my bike into the library so it would be safe, because the next ride we got was in a little Honda CRX (2 door little guy). We than drove about an hour to Mount Shasta. We finally got to our apartment at about 10pm. I unpacked & made my bed & finally hit the hay at 11pm. What a day!
Wednesday morning Elder Nash & I had to drive back down to Redding to a zone meeting, & we picked up my bike. It was cool the other elders were so excited that they all put my bike together for me. It was fun, except my one tire was flat. We went & bought some food & then made the hour drive back to Mount Shasta. Every night someone in the ward feeds us, it's awesome good food. We have a few investigators who are just praying for a baptismal date & we keep picking up new investigators. It is awesome to see the Lord work on these people. The weather here is pretty cold at 9 am it's about 34 F. Mount Shasta has a ton of snow on it, but it's over 14,000 ft tall.
I am not sure what to get Scott. It feels like forever since I have seen him. Maybe Season 2 of Prison Break, the TV show, or see if you can find him a life?!? No just kidding. I have a shirt for him, but yeah the 2nd season of Prison Break unless he has it, than I guess a hat, a fitted hat from Blind, CWB, Kawasaki,, something good. If you have a hard time I might be able to find something out here.
I got the addresses, maybe the Apgoods nah I will write them if they write me. I have a few people to write too now it's fun to get mail from you all! It's hard to be away from you all on Turkey day. the first time in 19 years, wow! I hope you had a good one. My temple recommend was fixed thanks. I was only able to go to the Temple twice, but it was okay, the Provo Temple. I might get a chance to go to the Medford, Oregon Temple & the Sacramento Temple. Good job in Volleyball, today we played in the Turkey bowl & beat all the old Married men, which is hard when they are calling the rules & such, but we won! On Today we had an all day Pday & Monday was only a 1/2 Pday so I couldn't get this finished in time. I am happy that Zowee sold, & it's funny dad use to make fun of her, but HA, he likes her! Anyways....
Shan, thanks for calling my crazy, no it's all good cause I kinda am. Most of the time though I am just quiet, it's hard to talk to some people It has been hard to think that little Saedy will be so grown up when I get home, but at least Dallin knows who I am, sort of. Thank you & Ryan for what you do I really appreciate it. Love you all tons!

PS You can either send letters to the mission office or to

Dad-
Well by the time you read this I will have been out for a month, & I don't miss any of you! No, I miss you like mad, especially when I need some help. You were there for me & I truely appreciate that. I am glad to hear that Grandpa is doing well. I am keeping him in my prayers, I also keep you & the family in them. I hope that you are doing well. Thank you for fixing Zowee & selling her. It is kinda sad to think that I will never see her again, but that is for the best. tell Craig congrats for the 'spike' & that I want some jerky! California is beautiful, I am going to get some pictures developed everntually. I hope that Denver is good, & stay out of trouble! I cannot believe that Ryan is engaged, but than agian it doesn't surprise me. Has he taken care of his fines so he can do the temple thing? And tell him to behave himself because the advisary will work hard to screw that up. Tell Ben 'Hi' back for me & that I hope that all is going well for him. Well Dad I just wanted you to know that I really apprecaite you & all you did for me, & do for me. An I love you! Your son-

Email and Letter 11-19-07

This looks like it could be a form letter, that we assume he filled out at an interview with the mission president after his arrival in CA.

The Letter:

We've Arrived
Dear:
We made it to California! The great Roseville Mission. Just a short note to let you know how I am doing.
He writes:
Hey family I made it to the beautiful state of California. The weather is extremely warm, compared to Utah anyway. President Perry and Sister Perry met us at the airport and they are both amazing. Our flight was short, & we sadly lost only one piece of luggage. Elder Carter, one of my MTC companions, lost one of his bags. Other than that it has been amazingly well. It is super flat out here, but I think I will get used to it eventually. It was a beautiful flight, tell Scott that Tahoe is beautiful from the sky! I love you all and I hope that things are going well. Write you soon.
Elder Brickey

Now the email:
The Mommy-I did go and say "bye" to Grandma and Grandpa and it was just as hard as when I said goodbye to all of you in October. But I know that I am going somewhere that the Lord needs me so it's all good I guess. I don't think that I left anything at the MTC, but I will find out eventually if I did. I got my bike and we had Zone meeting and all the other Elders in my Zone put it together they were pretty excited to do it too. It looks pretty! Anyways I hope all is going well for you. My preparation day is monday, but this week I get an all day Pday on Thursday, YEAH! Well I will write you again soon. Love you, love-Elder Brickey

Here are a couple of pictures that were sent. The first one is of Sister Perry, President Perry and Elder Brickey. The second one is of Elder Carter and Elder Brickey.

Tuesday

Tuesday morning, mom and dad got a phone call. On the line was ELDER BRICKEY!! He was told that he could call them while he waited to board the plane. Mom was so shocked that she was not sure what to say. Dad almost did not answer his phone, but was very glad that he did.
Too bad we were still sleeping when he called. But it was good that mom and dad got to talk with him. They said he sounded good, and he was excited to get to California. There were 16 missionaries going to the Roseville Mission yesterday. We hope he made it safely and got settled in. We are excited to hear from him soon.

Nov 7, 2007 Letter

Family-
Hey hey I have been gone for two weeks! you miss me yet? It has been a good two weeks though & it's crazy to think that next week I will be in California. We leave the MTC Tuesday at 5am and our flight leaves SLC at 8:40am than we will arrive in Sacramento at 9:30 am so 50 min flight I guess.
Mom, yeah grandpa was pretty funny. He found me in the lunch room & gave me the CD & than on Halloween he came up to my room & dropped off some candy. All the Elders in my district call him "Grandpa" instead of "Elder Walker" it is pretty funny. I already ask grandpa but just in case I would like a copy of my Priesthood line of Authority if I could get it. My schedule is kinda crazy. We wake up every morning at 6:15 get dressed & go to class that starts at 7. It's harder than you think to make it on time with shaving and all that good stuff. We usually have personal study from 7 -815, than breakfast from 815 to 845. Than its back to the classroom for campanion study from 845 to about 945. Than one of our two teachers is there from 945 to about 1, than its lunch from 1 to 145. than we have more study time, maybe a large group meeting or another class till about 6 than its dinner till 645. Than depending on the day we either have more classroom instruction, study time, or a devotional. Than from 9 to 930 we plan for the next day activities such as what we are going to study and such than head back to the residence to sleep.
The stairs are such a work out. On average I walk them up and down 3-8 times a day. Wednesday is usually more cause its Preperation Day (the day I get to write). Last Tuesday we had Elder Bednar & his wife speak which was AMAZING! this week we had Bishop Edgley from the Presiding Bishopric & his wife & that was awesome too. You need to take it easy though, trying to cut off your finger, goodness gracious! Thank you for taking care of my Temple recommend problem. I would have been more detailed but I didn't have much time to write. Thank you for the cookies they were good & I shared with our trick-o-treaters they like them too. my handwriting changes I am sorry, but I alsmo made Dad's section bigger so he could read it. He doesn't like my small hand writing. Elder is now my companion until we get to the field, mine & Elder Mitchell's. It has been cool having two we work really well together. Well that is awesome that you sold Zowee, sad but good....How much did you get out of her? Sorry I missed saying Happy Birthday to Dallin in my last letter, give him a hug & a kiss for me.

Ryan-
The MTC has been good, crazy but good. Just as I get use to everything I am getting shipped off. I have actually really enjoyed myself here it has been good. I am pretty stoked to go on a ried on my bike though I will admit that. I have been doing my wall push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, playing basketball & playing four square to stay excersing. So I feel pretty good still. I am glad you got to drive Zowee before she sold, its such a fun car, but its good to be gone & not have to deal with that anymore. Am I ready? I can only hope that I am. With God at my side Yes I am ready to conquer the world. I am pretty excited to fly again I will admit & than California here I am. Sounds like thinkgs are a bit crazy at home, well with Zack nayway. Well I hope the best for you good luck with school.

I love you all very much!
-Elder Brickey

PS You will probably have to address your next letter to the mission home!!!

Familia Brickey

It's been a great first week. Yeah I heard from almost everyone that I spoke very well English, but being with Granpa was awesome. People here that I know....well there is Elder Shaw, Elder Judd, Elder Apple, Elder Stone, & a few others that I cannot remember. I know them all from school so its mainly aquaintences. My roommates are Elder Mitchell my companion who is going to Roseville with me, he is Meza Az than there is is Elder Carter, well everyone in the room is going to Roseville, & he is from Layton. Yes, he is hte one that knows Chad & Cami so its pretty cool. Then Elder Glenfield who is from Canada, Welland Ontario. Sadly Elder Glenfield was sent home & in just six days all the ten Elders in our district had become so close that we all were teary eyed. I would say that I am thinking of home but I am just to buys to think about anything home. I am only allowed to write on Preperation Day, which is Wednesday here, so once a week from me, you will be gettin g a letter. Sorry about my room it was a little scary. Oh yeah I forgot my razor but since I needed one I bought my exact one here, but I might want the blades, nah never mind I will be good. I don't think I could get lost here it feels like I have been here for months with the amount of knowledge that I have learned. Goodies are suprisingly low, but hey I am popular. We actually are going to the Temple in just over an hour, so 3pm. Yeah, so church feels quite a lot like the singles ward but no hug from the sisters that you know. Speaking of hugs I almost got Grandma in trouble for walking in the office & giving her a hug but we explained that we are close, so thats all good. Well I hope the car goes, it would be really nice. Scott knows the generals of what it has & what its worth. The stock air intake is in the top of Dad's big shed if they want it. I said my last good byes & I don't think that she would appreciate a hut, sorry that was about Zowee & completely out of order, she already had to say good bye once, another time might break her little heart. Anyway....Thanks for the CD one of my district companions has a CD player & its a nice change of music from what we have. Grandpa came & found me in the lunchroom & hand delivered it so its been nice. Hey Scott, or Scooter, your welcome for the stuff but sorry you don't have time, how is work & life treating ya? Well take car of my stuff love ya bro. Shan I hope I answered all your questions & I thank you for your kindness & taking the cd & changing it for me. Mom thank you for being there I know at times I am quite the pain in the butt & I appreciate all that you have done for me. Dad, I love you and I wish I could have been there with you for your wild adventures. When I feel like I am down & like I cannot do this your words in this last letter & on the tape raise my spirit & I really appreciate all that you do for me. I am glad grandpa is doing better I keep him in my prayers along with the rest of the family. I love you all.

1st Letter

Dear Family-
I already miss you all, but I will take and forget myself in the work of the Lord. The first day has been pretty intense but it's been good. I have a pretty cool companion Elder Mitchell, he is from Mes, AR. We have two other Elders in our room who are going to Roseville it's pretty funny the one, Elder Carter, is the one from Chad's Stake. he said that he can see a definate resemblance between Chad & I. then there is Elder Glendale he is from Ontario Canada. It feels a little weird getting ready for bed here, it feels like a sleep over but with a lot of people, strange people. Well I love you all & I will write you again in a week. Love you.

Entered the MTC

Elder Brickey has entered the MTC. He entered on Wed. Oct 24, 2007. It was hard since he is the only Brickey boy who will have gone. It was really neat cause Grandpa and Grandma Walker are serving a mission down at the MTC and Grandpa got permission to give Elder Brickey a personal tour. He will be there to help him for a little while. And he might be able to see them while he is there for three weeks.
Here are the first pictures took of him as an official Missionary! He was getting the last of his beauty sleep, before finishing up to go to the MTC.

This is all of us there to see him off-
Left to right
Grandpa and Grandma Walker(They work at the MTC), Dallin, Janet (Mom), Bill (Dad), Kade (the missionary), Scott (the proud older brother), Saedy, Ryan and Shanna.

They have a really cool sign as you enter the MTC and Grandpa told us we had to take a picture by it. So here is Kade by it.......

Here are the BROTHERS by it.........

Then we went in, and Grandpa and Elder Brickey, went in one door, and they got all the stuff he needed for entering the MTC. Then it was time to put on the Name Badge. Kade insisted that Scott had to do it.......

Then we all went into a big chapel and they talked to us and then it was time to say good-bye. Elder Brickey left through one set of doors while everyone else left out the others.

A Farewell

Sunday, October 21 was the farewell. I will enter the MTC on Wednesday. There was a great turn out, and we had a very full house with everyone coming for a little shin-dig after. It was cold, and had even snowed last night, but we still were able to enjoy outside as long as we had our coats on. The snow had melted by the time we had the shin-dig. It was really cool to see many we had not seen for a while.
